recline is a sculptural work combining unrelated materials sourced from a used couch and recliner chair. In this piece, I join the spine of a couch and the skin of a chair to explore notions of interconnectedness and attachment to one another. This extends to the constant interaction and closeness our skin undergoes with other bodies and various forms of skin. puncture is a series of photographs documenting my scars, marks and bruises obtained during deconstructing and skinning a used couch and chair. This series showcases the traces of interaction and experiences located on my skin, presenting the personal histories that the skin holds. hide is centred around the deconstruction and skinning of a fifteen-year-old leather couch. Motivated by process and form, I aim to unveil materiality through acts of reversing, skinning, prying open and releasing tension points to present the material in its most minimal and rawest form.
